Gosaikunda Trek — When Life Didn’t Feel Real

Mountains, trails and moments from the journey.

THE JOURNEY

A little story from the trail

Some journeys give you beautiful views, while others leave you with a feeling that is difficult to put into words. Gosaikunda was one of those journeys for me.

The trek itself was an adventure — walking through peaceful forests, climbing steep mountain trails, passing through clouds and watching the landscape slowly change as I gained altitude. With every step higher, the surroundings became quieter, colder, and more unreal.

And then came the moment of finally seeing Gosaikunda.

Standing high in the Himalayas, looking at the sacred lake surrounded by rugged mountains and drifting clouds, life genuinely didn't feel real. The cold air, the silence, the reflections on the water, and the clouds moving across the peaks created a moment that felt completely separate from everyday life.

Gosaikunda isn't only beautiful; there is something deeply peaceful and spiritual about being there. Surrounded by mountains and far away from the noise of normal life, it was the kind of place where I simply wanted to stand still, look around, and appreciate how far the journey had brought me.

The difficult climbs, tired legs, cold weather, and long hours on the trail all disappeared from my mind once I reached the lake. Every challenge suddenly felt worth it.

Some places become memories. Some places become feelings.

For me, Gosaikunda became both.

That time when life didn't feel real.
